you should probably be listening to this : big boi

i mean, really. is there a single human being who wasn't at least a partial fan to the greatness of outkast? big boi and andre 3000 are legendary in the hip hop scene, commercializing it into the mass pop appeal, yet keeping it real enough for their genre to not get bombarded with haterade. after catching big boi's stellar set at p4k this past july, i knew it was bout time i checked his recent full lenght, sir lucious left foot, the son of chico dusty, and man. that's some good shit. this ain't nothing like speakerboxx, sir lucious is in his own game now. at first i spun it and was like, aight, this got some clever hip hop noise on here, but nothing ground breaking or quite worth the orgasmic hype its been getting from p4k or other blogs. but then, upon further inspection - there really is something for everybody. 'be still' has the velvety sugar vocal work of janelle monae, there's the endearingly kinda cheesey but still ok 'follow us' ft vonnnegut, the marching band infused 'general patton', ft big rube (whoever the fuck he is), the bumping bu-bu-bu-bu-buh single "shutterbug,"  the sexy shimmy worthy 'tangerine' ft t.i., the i-really-don't-wanna-admit-to-liking-this-song-but-i-do-oh-fuck-it jamie fox featured "hustle blood," and the fucking contagious baller joint "shine blockas" ft my love gucci mane, bonus points for the remix version with project pat and bun b.

shit is tight. ultimate summer party disc. for realz. you really honestly should probably be listening to big boi right now.
