dude's from gary, indiana. he's attractive. 28 years old. but most importantly, is one of the dopest, freshest rappers we've got going right now. i just got assigned to write a review for his ep, str8 killa, and prior to this exposure, had only known him as a rising name from blurbs on p4k. well, damn. if you like hip hop at all, you really honestly should probably listen to this.

his rapping style is somehow reminiscent of tupac, his beats are not necessarily the most intricately woven, yet somehow manage to hold up from the competing filler, somehow original but not. there's no kitsch to him. he's not trying to out thug anybody. he's not just rapping about how much booty he can cop. but when he throws his fingers up and exclaims 'fuck the world,' you just wanna join him on his haterade tirade. he also made me realize that chicago's chuck inglish (of the cool kids) isn't quite horrible either. on 'oil money,' he shares the mic with fellow cool kid and bun b and puts out one of my fave hip hop joints of the year. he's a personal OG and he likes replacing the syllable (ate) with 8. that to me is reason enough to check him out. the fact that he's gorgeous and well versed def helps too.
