good lord this week has proven i have limited drinking bingers left in me. i would like to apologize to any of the 400 recipients of my drunken texts and dials this week. yesterday was fun, the night was more on the lame side. i tried to stay out later since i've been retiring back to my hotel by 8 every night but last eve's failed attempt to catch the hood internet showed me i've been doing the right thing up until then by getting sleep instead.
i did catch some of the better bands i've seen yesterday, however. highlights included the bmi brunch - awesome food, awesome outdoor view in the backyard park area of the four seasons on the river. ryan's muzzle of bees bbq - it was a trek away from downtown but totally worth it. got to see a handful of rad bands including rural alberta advantage and these united states. drank lots of beer and ate some brats. beautiful backyard, very cozy. the fader fort rocked the drums, the very best, japandroids (and free tallboys, of course). finally got to meet up a bit with ryan. didnt quite cross paths with other pals i've been attempting to hunt all week, guess that better happen today or i'll miss everyone since i'm heading on a plane outta austin at 8:30 tomorrow am. back in chicago around 1. i am sooo excited. (except some peeps' facebook statuses are telling me its snowing and 35 degrees?? wtf). i miss my kitty so much i'ma squeeze her head off when i see her. my own bed. my own shower. drinkable water that doesnt make me gag. regular accents. ahhh. this might be my last venture to sxsw for a while. . . we shall see.
