Oh 2Pac. "Changes" surely was a great song. I think I read somewhere that it was featured on the Pope's Vatican sponsored official MySpace song list. (I'm not lying!) Homeboy in his funny hat hates on the gays but he's down with makin' g's in a sleazy way, cuz well, we gotta get paid. (But that's just the way it is).
(Sidenote: My Senior Class Video (a 15 minute shitty ass powerpoint presentation of old kid pictures of my 32 classmates on vhs) has this song in the soundtrack, despite the class consisting of all religious straight farmer white kids. Other songs included: Vitamin C "graduation song," some shitty ass country songs and Smashing Pumpkins. Argyle High School Class of 2001 REPRESENT!)
Oh well, pac and pope references aside, I decided I'm going to focus more attention on this site. See if I can big willy style pimp it up and make it my regular writing go-to. In order to do that and actually score some loyal readership, however, I gotta mix some stuff up. Make it not quite polished (cuz that's not how i do), but more consistent. I already messed with the actual layout of the site last week as you can see, there's new pretty colors, links are highlighted, all that fun stuff. I even added "share" capabilities if you like to retweet or fb post some of this shit (not that my rambles are worthy of that, but I do that frequently on other sites for vids and articles and crap). And I added a "reactions" capability where you can click whether or not I'm being mental or super hilarious (which i mean, is the correct reaction).
Just kinda playing around, you know? Anyway, apart from my ramblings, back to consistency. I want to have regular column/like posts. If any of you are currently reading mwah, you've probs noticed the reoccuring 'men i want to date' post. that's a fun one, keeping that one til i want to date the entire world population, i think. but yeah, more stuff like that to come. any suggestions? here's some i've been kicking around. . . i still wanna keep a lotta the content the same but maybe just bucket it a little more clearly. here's my thoughts:
Men I Want To Date : Jodi rambles about dudes who will never bone her but why she thinks they should anyway
Revisited : Pretty much that, every so often revisit an older music release that is still classic after so many years (1-30, although let's face it, my old school music knowledge is pretty pathetic, so I'll more likely unearth an obscure album from 5-10 years ago you never heard of but will thank me for digging up now), kinda in a review like format, but also reppin' why it's so great and hopefully including links for you to check out on yer own too
You Should Probably Listen to This: New music rambles/reviews about how awesome it is or will be. I do a lot of these anyway, but never really put a header on it. Any suggestions on something catchier? Otherwise it will probably be something like that. I used to actually work on my college npr like radio doc program called Now Hear This, but that's too polished for me. Maybe "Quit Masturbating and Listen to This Now" is more fitting. . . .
Celebrity Haterz : Where I hate on losers like Dam Funk and hope that they have nothing better to do than read my shitty blog.
Real Talk : Where I whine about how much my life sucks or any personal garbage I just have to throw out there.
OMGWTFROFL : Ramblings about weird shit. Like, tear stains, for example.
Then I want a final column which is a bit more polished for actual critique reviews. If I decide to expand this site to do actual reviews and work with promoters exclusively for unpolished, I gotta make it sound a bit sharper. so I need a clever column title for this : Maybe something like, I Was There: (Band Name/Venue/City) or something like that. (Ex: I Was There: Atmosphere/Metro/Chicago).
Thoughts? Any other clever ideas I should bucket in my revamping? Comments/feedback much appreciated, ya'll.
