El Guincho rulez. While homeboy may just be one of many getting their hands wet in the whole chillwave genre, dude makes electro-sampling undeniably radical. Alegranza! was one of my favorite releases of 2009 and I was fortunate enough to make his Empty Bottle show late last year. Tropical, dizzying delectable pop, contagious hooks and lot's'o chanting I can't understand b/c I'm an ignorant white broad - this shit is perfect summer soundtrack. Dude's dropping a series of limited release EP's, and here's the link to stream the first one, Piratas de Sudamerica. Shit's been keepin' me in bed since I woke up, hiding in my dark, air conditioned bedroom cave. Makes me happy - hopefully ya'll can enjoy a spin as well.
