two door cinema club.
Two Door Cinema Club throws one hell of an impromptu dance party—not that I’ve ever been invited to one personally, but one can only imagine how badass this electro pop trio can get after checking their debut LP, Tourist History. From the first jittery moments of opening track “Cigarettes in the Theatre,” Two Door Cinema Club is all about explosive guitars, soaring synthwork and an ADD paced tempo.
Energetic and delectable singles “Something Good Can Work,” “I Can Talk” and “Undercover Martyn” keep the dance vibes a-flowin’, never ceasing their clap-infused, feel-good beats for a second. Thanks to garnering buzz from NME and nabbing a spot on the BBC’s Sound of 2010 Poll, 2010 is going to be Two Door Cinema Club’s year.
With comparisons ranging from Bloc Party to Death Cab for Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club falls somewhere in between, coming across as an over caffeinated version of Phoenix thanks to Alex Trimble’s light and high pitched vocal work. Clocking in just less than thirty minutes, Tourist History is a nine-track collection of dance party anthems, essential to any pop lover’s music collection.
