i've got pals up in minnesnota. they's aiight. they like good music and from time to time we'll share our tastes/recommendations. one such band i heard on the fly was a lil' duo by the name of lookbook. pals' band played with em and the name stuck out. when my editor at innerview assigned me a preview for their upcoming gig at schuba's this thurs, the name clicked in recognition and i got ahold of their effort 'wild at heart' and wasn't disappointed. kinda electro-synth rockish glitter new wave-ish, but not in the fluffy disposable trend of the week flavor. homegirl's got pipes on her and the dude's got mad production skills. at least that's what i picked up from spinning (and re-spinning) the record. soooooo, schuba's, thursday june 17th, 8 bones. who the hell is ma' date? clique talk's opening if that's any incentive. sweaty, awkward chubster screaming like a banshee. should be entertaining to say the least. . . plus i could really use a dance-off, so i'll buy you a brew if ya' accompany my stressed ass.
